Important SOL Testing Note
The SOL Testing Blueprint for Math 6 has been revised: The "no calculator section" is no longer
comprised of only the Computation & Estimation Standards and students will be permitted to use
a calculator on some C & E Standards.
The following Standards will be tested without the use of a calculator:
Number & Number Sense
6.2c Demonstrate equivalent relationships among fractions, decimals, and percents
6.2d Compare and order fractions, decimals, and percents
Computation & Estimation
6.6a Multiply and divide fractions and mixed numbers
6.8 Evaluate whole number numerical expressions, using the order of operations
Calculators will be permitted on test items addressing the following Standards:
Computation & Estimation
6.6b Estimate solutions and then solve single-step and multistep practical problems involving
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions
6.7 Solve single-step and multistep practical problems involving addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division of decimals
All other Number & Number Sense Standards, as well as all of the Measurement, Geometry,
Probability & Statistics, and Patterns, Functions, & Algebra Standards will be assessed in the
calculator section.
