Starting the night before severe weather is predicted, transportation staff monitor weather conditions. At 3:30 a.m., key staff members continue to monitor weather conditions and test drive roads throughout the county to determine safety. The superintendent is updated by 5 a.m. and a decision is announced by 5:30 a.m. or as soon as sufficient information is available.
